Sunset Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCABC DEFE GHGHII JJKK LMLMNN NNEEEE

From this windy bridge at restA
In some former curious hourB
We have watched the city's hueC
All along the orange westA
Cupola and pointed towerB
Darken into solid blueC
-
Tho' the biting north wind breaksD
Full across this drifted holdE
Let us stand with iced cheeksF
Watching westward as of oldE
-
Past the violet mountain headG
To the farthest fringe of pineH
Where far off the purple redG
Narrows to a dusky lineH
And the last pale splendours dieI
Slowly from the olive skyI
-
Till the thin clouds wear awayJ
Into threads of purple grayJ
And the sudden stars betweenK
Brighten in the pallid greenK
-
Till above the spacious eastL
Slow returned one by oneM
Like pale prisoners releasedL
From the dungeons of the sunM
Capella and her train appearN
In the glittering CharioteerN
-
Till the rounded moon shall growN
Great above the eastern snowN
Shining into burnished goldE
And the silver earth outrolledE
In the misty yellow lightE
Shall take on the width of nightE
