On Lake Temiscamingue Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCDEFGHHG

A single dreary elm that stands betweenA
The sombre forest and the wan lit lakeB
Halves with its slim gray stem and pendent greenA
The shadowed point Beyond it without breakB
Bold brows of pine topped granite bend awayC
Far to the southward fading off in grandD
Soft folds of looming purple Cool and grayC
The point runs out a blade of thinnest sandD
Two rivers meet beyond it wild and clearE
Their deepening thunder breaks upon the earF
The one descending from its forest homeG
By many an eddied pool and murmuring fallH
The other cloven through the mountain wallH
A race of tumbled rocks a road of foamG
