Love-doubt Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBA CDCDCDYearning upon the faint rose curves that flit | A |
About her child sweet mouth and innocent cheek | B |
And in her eyes watching with eyes all meek | B |
The light and shadow of laughter I would sit | A |
Mute knowing out two souls might never knit | A |
As if a pale proud lily flower should seek | B |
The love of some red rose but could not speak | B |
One word of her blithe tongue to tell of it | A |
- | |
For oh my Love was sunny lipped and stirred | C |
With all swift light and sound and gloom not long | D |
Retained I with dreams weighed that ever heard | C |
Sad burdens echoing through the loudest throng | D |
She the wild song of some May merry bird | C |
I but the listening maker of a song | D |
