Forest Moods Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CDEF AAGG HHAA

There is singing of birds in the deep wet woodsA
In the heart of the listening solitudesA
Pewees and thrushes and sparrows not fewB
And all the notes of their throats are trueB
-
The thrush from the innermost ash takes onC
A tender dream of the treasured and goneD
But the sparrow singeth with pride and cheerE
Of the might and light of the present and hereF
-
There is shining of flowers in the deep wet woodsA
In the heart of the sensitive solitudesA
The roseate bell and the lily are thereG
And every leaf of their sheaf is fairG
-
Careless and bold without dream of woeH
The trilliums scatter their flags of snowH
But the pale wood daffodil covers her faceA
Agloom with the doom of a sorrowful raceA
