Comfort Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAACCA DDEFFE

Comfort the sorrowful with watchful eyesA
In silence for the tongue cannot availB
Vex not his wounds with rhetoric nor the staleB
Worn truths that are but maddening mockeriesA
To him whose grief outmasters all repliesA
Only watch near him gently do but bringC
The piteous help of silent ministeringC
Watchful and tender This alone is wiseA
-
So shall thy presence and thine every motionD
The grateful knowledge of thy sad devotionD
Melt out the passionate hardness of his griefE
And break the flood gates of thy pent up soulF
He shall bow down beneath thy mute controlF
And take thine hands and weep and find reliefE
