April In The Hills Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AAABCCCD EEEFGGGF HHHIGGGI GGGJGGGJ KKKLGGGL

To day the world is wide and fairA
With sunny fields of lucid airA
And waters dancing everywhereA
The snow is almost goneB
The noon is builded high with lightC
And over heaven's liquid heightC
In steady fleets serene and whiteC
The happy clouds go onD
-
The channels run the bare earth steamsE
And every hollow rings and gleamsE
With jetting falls and dashing streamsE
The rivers burst and fillF
The fields are full of little lakesG
And when the romping wind awakesG
The water ruffles blue and shakesG
And the pines roar on the hillF
-
The crows go by a noisy throngH
About the meadows all day longH
The shore lark drops his brittle songH
And up the leafless treeI
The nut hatch runs and nods and clingsG
The bluebird dips with flashing wingsG
The robin flutes the sparrow singsG
And the swallows float and fleeI
-
I break the spirit's cloudy bandsG
A wanderer in enchanted landsG
I feel the sun upon my handsG
And far from care and strifeJ
The broad earth bids me forth I riseG
With lifted brow and upward eyesG
I bathe my spirit in blue skiesG
And taste the springs of lifeJ
-
I feel the tumult of new birthK
I waken with the wakening earthK
I match the bluebird in her mirthK
And wild with wind and sunL
A treasurer of immortal daysG
I roam the glorious world with praiseG
The hillsides and the woodland waysG
Till earth and I are oneL
