A January Morning Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCAADDAEFFEGG| The glittering roofs are still with frost each worn | A |
| Black chimney builds into the quiet sky | B |
| Its curling pile to crumble silently | C |
| Far out to westward on the edge of morn | A |
| The slender misty city towers up borne | A |
| Glimmer faint rose against the pallid blue | D |
| And yonder on those northern hills the hue | D |
| Of amethyst hang fleeces dull as horn | A |
| And here behind me come the woodmen's sleighs | E |
| With shouts and clamorous squeakings might and main | F |
| Up the steep slope the horses stamp and strain | F |
| Urged on by hoarse tongued drivers cheeks ablaze | E |
| Iced beards and frozen eyelids team by team | G |
| With frost fringed flanks and nostrils jetting steam | G |
