Ned Kelly Was A Gentleman Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFE GHGHIJKL MNOFKPQP RSTSAUVW

Ned Kelly was a gentlemanA
Many hardships did he endureB
He battled to deprive the richC
Then gave it to the poorD
But his mode of distributionA
Was not acceptable to allE
Though backed by certain gunmenF
Known as Gilbert and Ben HallE
-
I think it was a pityG
They hanged him from a ropeH
They made Australian historyG
But they shattered Kelly's hopeH
If they sent him into ParliamentI
His prospects would be brightJ
He'd function for the massesK
If not for the eliteL
-
And perhaps now in AustraliaM
We'd have millions trained with himN
All laughing with a vengeanceO
At the little yellow menF
If Ned and the guerillasK
Were with us here todayP
The Japs would not be prowling aroundQ
New Guinea and Milne BayP
-
Since Ned went over the BorderR
There has been many a changeS
Yet we may adopt his tacticsT
Around the Owen Stanley RangeS
Poor Ned he was a gentlemanA
But never understoodU
We want men of such mettle nowV
To stem the yellow floodW
