When Aurelia First I Courted Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFAFGHIH

When Aurelia first I courtedA
She had youth and beauty tooB
Killing pleasures when she sportedA
And her charms were ever newB
Conquering time doth now deceive herC
Which her glories did upholdD
All her arts can ne'er retrieve herC
Poor Aurelia's growing oldD
-
The airy spirits which invitedE
Are retir'd and move no moreF
And those eyes are now benightedA
Which were comets heretoforeF
Want of these abate her meritsG
Yet I've passion for her nameH
Only kind and am'rous spiritsI
Kindle and maintain a flameH
