There were three ravens sat on a treeA
They were as black as they might beA
The one of them said to his mateB
'Where shall we our breakefast take 'C
' Downe in yonder greene fieldD
There lies a knight slain under his shieldD
'His hounds they lie downe at his feeteD
So well they can their master keepeE
' His haukes they flie so eagerlyA
There's no fowle dare come him nie 'C
-
Downe there comes a fallow doeD
As great with yong as she might goeD
-
She lift up his bloudy hedD
And kist his wounds that were so redD
-
She got him up upon her backeF
And carried him to earthen lakeG
-
She buried him before the primeH
She was dead herselfe ere even song timeH
-
God send every gentlemanI
Such haukes such hounds and such a lemanI
