| The sulphurous fumes scorched their hands and face | G |

| Louder and louder the thunder crashed | I |
| And brighter and brighter the lightning flashed | I |
| Hotter and hotter the air became | J |
| Till the clothes were burned from each quivering frame | J |

| 'Ha ha ' said the devil 'we're nearing hell' | K |

| 'My faithful friends you have done the work | L |
| And the devil never can a payday shirk | L |

| 'You've justice scorned and corruption sown | O |

| You have drunk rioted cheated plundered and lied | Q |
| And mocked at God in your hell born pride | Q |

| For it's only right you should have your due | F |

| To be saved from his sin and the demon's power | R |
