Dead Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEBEFGHGIJKJThere's an empty seat where the old folks meet | A |
When they offer their evening prayer | B |
And a look forlorn for the dear one gone | C |
As they gaze on his vacant chair | B |
There's a silent grief finds never relief | D |
And a face whence the bloom has fled | E |
And a maiden fair in her beauty rare | B |
Who weeps for her lover dead | E |
There's a lonely grave where a soldier brave | F |
Lies asleep in the southern land | G |
While a rusted gun still gleams in the sun | H |
On the parched and burning sand | G |
There's a home above where the good God's love | I |
Its perfection ever discloses | J |
Where the soldier is blest with eternal rest | K |
And his quiet spirit reposes | J |
