To Death Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEFFGGAA

O King of Terrors whose unbounded SwayA
All that have Life must certainly ObeyA
The King the Priest the Prophet all are ThineB
Nor wou'd ev'n God in Flesh thy Stroke declineB
My Name is on thy Roll and sure I mustC
Encrease thy gloomy Kingdom in the DustC
My soul at this no Apprehension feelsD
But trembles at thy Swords thy Racks thy WheelsD
Thy scorching Fevers which distract the SenseE
And snatch us raving unprepar'd from henceE
At thy contagious Darts that wound the HeadsF
Of weeping Friends who wait at dying BedsF
Spare these and let thy Time be when it willG
My Bus'ness is to Dye and Thine to KillG
Gently thy fatal Sceptre on me layA
And take to thy cold Arms insensibly thy PreyA
