Glass Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: AABBCCDDEEEFFF| O Man what Inspiration was thy Guide | A |
| Who taught thee Light and Air thus to divide | A |
| To let in all the useful Beams of Day | B |
| Yet force as subtil Winds without thy Shash to stay | B |
| T'extract from Embers by a strange Device | C |
| Then polish fair these Flakes of solid Ice | C |
| Which silver'd o'er redouble all in place | D |
| And give thee back thy well or ill complexion'd Face | D |
| To Vessels blown exceed the gloomy Bowl | E |
| Which did the Wine's full excellence controul | E |
| These shew the Body whilst you taste the Soul | E |
| Its colour sparkles Motion lets thee see | F |
| Tho' yet th' Excess the Preacher warns to flee | F |
| Lest Men at length as clearly spy through Thee | F |
