The Bluebell Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFE GHIH JKLK MNON PQRQ SEBE TUMV NLWL TNXN YIMI P HZ

A fine and subtle spirit dwellsA
In every little flowerB
Each one its own sweet feeling breathesC
With more or less of powerB
There is a silent eloquenceD
In every wild bluebellE
That fills my softened heart with blissF
That words could never tellE
-
Yet I recall not long agoG
A bright and sunny dayH
'Twas when I led a toilsome lifeI
So many leagues awayH
-
That day along a sunny roadJ
All carelessly I strayedK
Between two banks where smiling flowersL
Their varied hues displayedK
-
Before me rose a lofty hillM
Behind me lay the seaN
My heart was not so heavy thenO
As it was wont to beN
-
Less harassed than at other timesP
I saw the scene was fairQ
And spoke and laughed to those aroundR
As if I knew no careQ
-
But when I looked upon the bankS
My wandering glances fellE
Upon a little trembling flowerB
A single sweet bluebellE
-
Whence came that rising in my throatT
That dimness in my eyeU
Why did those burning drops distilM
Those bitter feelings riseV
-
O that lone flower recalled to meN
My happy childhood's hoursL
When bluebells seemed like fairy giftsW
A prize among the flowersL
-
Those sunny days of merrimentT
When heart and soul were freeN
And when I dwelt with kindred heartsX
That loved and cared for meN
-
I had not then mid heartless crowdsY
To spend a thankless lifeI
In seeking after others' wealM
With anxious toil and strifeI
-
'Sad wanderer weep those blissful timesP
That never may return '-
The lovely floweret seemed to sayH
And thus it made me mournZ
