Stanzas Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEF GDGD HIHI JCJC CDCD K

Oh weep not love each tear that springsA
In those dear eyes of thineB
To me a keener suffering bringsA
Than if they flowed from mineB
And do not droop however drearC
The fate awaiting theeD
For my sake combat pain and careC
And cherish life for meD
-
I do not fear thy love will failE
Thy faith is true I knowF
But oh my love thy strength is frailE
For such a life of woeF
-
Were't not for this I well could traceG
Though banished long from theeD
Life's rugged path and boldly faceG
The storms that threaten meD
-
Fear not for me I've steeled my mindH
Sorrow and strife to greetI
Joy with my love I leave behindH
Care with my friends I meetI
-
A mother's sad reproachful eyeJ
A father's scowling browC
But he may frown and she may sighJ
I will not break my vowC
-
I love my mother I revereC
My sire but fear not meD
Believe that Death alone can tearC
This faithful heart from theeD
