Confidence Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDCD EFEF DGDG HBHB IDJD KCKC

Oppressed with sin and woeA
A burdened heart I bearB
Opposed by many a mighty foeA
But I will not despairB
With this polluted heartC
I dare to come to TheeD
Holy and mighty as Thou artC
For Thou wilt pardon meD
-
I feel that I am weakE
And prone to every sinF
But Thou who giv'st to those who seekE
Wilt give me strength withinF
-
Far as this earth may beD
From yonder starry skiesG
Remoter still am I from TheeD
Yet Thou wilt not despiseG
-
I need not fear my foesH
I need not yield to careB
I need not sink beneath my woesH
For Thou wilt answer prayerB
-
In my Redeemer's nameI
I give myself to TheeD
And all unworthy as I amJ
My God will cherish meD
-
O make me wholly ThineK
Thy love to me impartC
And let Thy holy spirit shineK
For ever on my heartC
