The Lord is the portion of mine inheritance PsalmA
-
Though some good things of lower worthB
My heart is called on to resignC
Of all the gifts in heaven and earthB
The greatest and the best is mineC
The love of God in Christ made knownD
The love that is enough aloneD
My Father's love is all my ownD
-
My soul's Restorer let me learnE
In that deep love to live and restF
Let me the precious thing discernE
Of which I am indeed possessedF
My treasure let me feel and seeG
And let my moments as they fleeG
Unfold my endless life in TheeG
-
Let me not dwell so much withinH
My bounded heart with anxious heedI
Where all my searches meet with sinH
And nothing satisfies my needI
It shuts me from the sound and sightJ
Of that pure world of life and lightJ
Which has no breadth or length or heightJ
-
Let me Thy power Thy beauty seeG
So shall the hopeless labor ceaseK
And my free heart shall follow theeG
Through paths of everlasting peaceK
My strength Thy gift my life Thy careL
I shall forget to seek elsewhereL
The wealth to which my soul is heirL
-
I was not called to walk aloneD
To clothe myself with love and lightJ
And for Thy glory not my ownD
My soul is precious in Thy sightJ
My evil heart can never beG
A home a heritage for meG
But Thou canst make it fit for TheeG
