Our Native Earth Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABACDEFEGCGCHH

We do not carry it in lockets on the breastA
And do not cry about it in poemsB
It does not wake us from the bitter restA
And does not seem to us like Eden promisedC
In our hearts we never try to treatD
This as a subject for the bargain rowE
While being ill unhappy spent on itF
We even fail to see it or to knowE
Yes this dirt on the feet suits us fairlyG
Yes this crunch on the teeth suits us justC
And we trample it nightly and dailyG
This unmixed and non structural dustC
But we lay into it and become it aloneH
And therefore call this earth so freely my ownH
