How Many Demands... Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCD EFGH IEJE KLMNEEOE

How many demands the beloved can makeA
The woman discarded noneB
How glad I am that today the waterC
Under the colorless ice is motionlessD
-
And I stand Christ help meE
On this shroud that is brittle and brightF
But save my lettersG
So that our descendants can decideH
-
So that you courageous and wiseI
Will be seen by them with greater clarityE
Perhaps we may leave some gapsJ
In your glorious biographyE
-
Too sweet is earthly drinkK
Too tight the nets of loveL
Sometime let the children readM
My name in their lesson bookN
And on learning the sad storyE
Let them smile shylyE
Since you've given me neither love nor peaceO
Grant me bitter gloryE
