Here Is My Gift Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGH IJKLMNOPQRSD

Here is my gift not roses on your graveA
not sticks of burning incenseB
You lived aloof maintaining to the endC
your magnificent disdainD
You drank wine and told the wittiest jokesE
and suffocated inside stifling wallsF
Alone you let the terrible stranger inG
and stayed with her aloneH
-
Now you're gone and nobody says a wordI
about your troubled and exalted lifeJ
Only my voice like a flute will mournK
at your dumb funeral feastL
Oh who would have dared believe that half crazed IM
I sick with grief for the buried pastN
I smoldering on a slow fireO
having lost everything and forgotten allP
would be fated to commemorate a manQ
so full of strength and will and bright inventionsR
who only yesterday it seems chatted with meS
hiding the tremor of his mortal painD
