The girl in brown borned and grownA
Like other colleagues followed a set patternB
Unlike other friends showed a passion to improvisingC
Haylofts to the floor of grandpa's barnD
Than playing with dollsE
Getting her destiny seeing a plane was novel and spellboundF
Hoped for a 'joy ride'F
Above the dizzing heightsG
Didn't get into hystericsH
She acquired FAI licenceI
First soared the feetsI
First flyer with air cooled engineJ
Mysterious made all her dreams come trueK
Joined a crew of three in a trans Atlantic flightF
Heart beat faster heard saying herselfL
Yes I'd be willingC
Friendship suffered a formidable and hard to controlM
To escape the challenging wave 'Friendship' drunk a wine of hoursI
Millions closed their radiosI
Everyone anxious the very dayF
Plane wined fuel and strained in overloadF
The radio drew blankN
-
Midst icy Cascades and a little minutes of fuel in the tankN
She blessed 'it might as well have been my last flight'F
Her jottings were those of a dreamer and a pilotF
Poetry mingled with gay drawings and scruting revealed clouds as fantastic gobs of mashed potatoesI
-
'Freindship' landed at Burry PortF
Her luggage were a comb and a toothbrushO
-
Become a celebrity the world overP
Became the super saleswoman for an expanding industryQ
Her feminity admired manR
Women were charmed by her modesty and her sincere championingC
-
At last flight giving vent her poetic soulM
And said ''The moon set and I was alone with starsI
I have often said that the lure of flying is the lure of beauty and I need no other flight to convince meQ
-
Ten thousands waited but her plane never landedF
Destiny in an ironic way fulfilled her prognosisI
Amelia Earhart walked aloneA
The girl in brown borned was walking aloneA
