Venetian Glass Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCDAEFAGHIJKLMJN| As one who sails upon a wide blue sea | A |
| Far out of sight of land his mind intent | B |
| Upon the sailing of his little boat | C |
| On tightening ropes and shaping fair his course | D |
| Hears suddenly across the restless sea | A |
| The rhythmic striking of some towered clock | E |
| And wakes from thoughtless idleness to time | F |
| Time the slow pulse which beats eternity | A |
| So through the vacancy of busy life | G |
| At intervals you cross my path and bring | H |
| The deep solemnity of passing years | I |
| For you I have shed bitter tears for you | J |
| I have relinquished that for which my heart | K |
| Cried out in selfish longing And to night | L |
| Having just left you I can say 'T is well | M |
| Thank God that I have known a soul so true | J |
| So nobly just so worthy to be loved | N |
