The Travelling Bear Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEAFGHIJKLMGNOPQR SJK

GRASS BLADES push up between the cobblestonesA
And catch the sun on their flat sidesB
Shooting it backC
Gold and emeraldD
Into the eyes of passers byE
And over the cobblestonesA
Square footed and heavyF
Dances the trained bearG
The cobbles cut his feetH
And he has a ring in his noseI
But still he dancesJ
For the keeper pricks him with a sharp stickK
Under his furL
Now the crowd gapes and chucklesM
And boys and young women shuffle their feet in time to the dancing bearG
They see him wobblingN
Against a dust of emerald and goldO
And they are greatly delightedP
The legs of the bear shake with fatigueQ
And his back achesR
And the shining grass blades dazzle and confuse himS
But still he dancesJ
Because of the little pointed stickK
