Square footed and heavy | F |
Dances the trained bear | G |
The cobbles cut his feet | H |
And he has a ring in his nose | I |
But still he dances | J |
For the keeper pricks him with a sharp stick | K |
Under his fur | L |
Now the crowd gapes and chuckles | M |
And boys and young women shuffle their feet in time to the dancing bear | G |
They see him wobbling | N |
Against a dust of emerald and gold | O |
And they are greatly delighted | P |
The legs of the bear shake with fatigue | Q |
And his back aches | R |
And the shining grass blades dazzle and confuse him | S |
But still he dances | J |
Because of the little pointed stick | K |
