The Fruit Garden Path Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDCDED

The path runs straight between the flowering rowsA
A moonlit path hemmed in by beds of bloomB
Where phlox and marigolds dispute for roomB
With tall red dahlias and the briar roseA
'T is reckless prodigality which throwsA
Into the night these wafts of rich perfumeB
Which sweep across the garden like a plumeB
Over the trees a single bright star glowsA
Dear garden of my childhood here my yearsC
Have run away like little grains of sandD
The moments of my life its hopes and fearsC
Have all found utterance here where now I standD
My eyes ache with the weight of unshed tearsE
You are my home do you not understandD
