The End Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDBAEFGEFG| Throughout the echoing chambers of my brain | A |
| I hear your words in mournful cadence toll | B |
| Like some slow passing bell which warns the soul | B |
| Of sundering darkness Unrelenting fain | A |
| To batter down resistance fall again | C |
| Stroke after stroke insistent diastole | D |
| The bitter blows of truth until the whole | B |
| Is hammered into fact made strangely plain | A |
| Where shall I look for comfort Not to you | E |
| Our worlds are drawn apart our spirit's suns | F |
| Divided and the light of mine burnt dim | G |
| Now in the haunted twilight I must do | E |
| Your will I grasp the cup which over runs | F |
| And with my trembling lips I touch the rim | G |
