The End Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBACDBAEFGEFG

Throughout the echoing chambers of my brainA
I hear your words in mournful cadence tollB
Like some slow passing bell which warns the soulB
Of sundering darkness Unrelenting fainA
To batter down resistance fall againC
Stroke after stroke insistent diastoleD
The bitter blows of truth until the wholeB
Is hammered into fact made strangely plainA
Where shall I look for comfort Not to youE
Our worlds are drawn apart our spirit's sunsF
Divided and the light of mine burnt dimG
Now in the haunted twilight I must doE
Your will I grasp the cup which over runsF
And with my trembling lips I touch the rimG
