| The gladioli on the table are pale mauve | B |
| I smell pale mauve and blue | C |
| Blue soft like bruises putrid oozing | D |
| The air oozes blue mauve | B |
| And the door with the black line where it does not shut | E |

| I must pass that door to go to bed | F |
| Or I must stay here | G |
| And watch the crack | H |
| Oozing air | I |
