Roads Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFGHIJJKLGL HMNMOOPQQRSRS TUVUWXYXZA2NA2

I know a country laced with roadsA
They join the hills and they span the brooksB
They weave like a shuttle between broad fieldsC
And slide discreetly through hidden nooksB
They are canopied like a Persian domeD
And carpeted with orient dyesE
They are myriad voiced and musicalF
And scented with happiest memoriesG
O Winding roads that I know so wellH
Every twist and turn every hollow and hillI
They are set in my heart to a pulsing tuneJ
Gay as a honey bee humming in JuneJ
'T is the rhythmic beat of a horse's feetK
And the pattering paws of a sheep dog bitchL
'T is the creaking trees and the singing breezeG
And the rustle of leaves in the road side ditchL
-
A cow in a meadow shakes her bellH
And the notes cut sharp through the autumn airM
Each chattering brook bears a fleet of leavesN
Their cargo the rainbow and just now whereM
The sun splashed bright on the road aheadO
A startled rabbit quivered and fledO
O Uphill roads and roads that dip downP
You curl your sun spattered length alongQ
And your march is beaten into a songQ
By the softly ringing hoofs of a horseR
And the panting breath of the dogs I loveS
The pageant of Autumn follows its courseR
And the blue sky of Autumn laughs aboveS
-
And the song and the country become as oneT
I see it as music I hear it as lightU
Prismatic and shimmering trembling to toneV
The land of desire my soul's delightU
And always it beats in my listening earsW
With the gentle thud of a horse's strideX
With the swift falling steps of many dogsY
Following following at my sideX
O Roads that journey to fairylandZ
Radiant highways whose vistas gleamA2
Leading me on under crimson leavesN
To the opaline gates of the Castles of DreamA2
