Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDCCE

Eunice paced up and down No joy she tookA
At meeting Gervase but the custom grownB
Still held her He was late She sudden shookA
And caught at her stopped heart Her eyes had shownB
Sir Everard emerging from the mistC
His uniform was travel stained and tornD
His jackboots muddy and his eager strideE
Jangled his spurs A thornD
Entangled trailed behind him To the trystC
He hastened Eunice shuddered ran a twistC
Round a sharp turning and she fled to hideE
