Pickthorn Manor: 41 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDCCE

Hard silence he had forced upon his lipsA
For long and long and would have done so stillB
Had not she here she pressed her finger tipsA
Against her heavy eyes Then with forced willB
She wrote that he might come sealed with the armsC
Of Crowe and Frampton twined Her heart felt lighterD
When this was done It seemed her constant careE
Might some day cease to fright herD
Illness could be no crime and dreadful harmsC
Did come from too much sunshine Her alarmsC
Would lessen when she saw him standing thereE
