Rhyme Scheme: ABCBDEFEDDF

For days thereafter Eunice lived retiredA
Waited upon by one old serving maidB
She would not leave her chamber and desiredC
Only to hide herself She was afraidB
Of what her eyes might trick her into seeingD
Of what her longing urge her then to doE
What was this dreadful illness solitudeF
Had tortured her intoE
Her hours went by in a long constant fleeingD
The thought of that one morning And her beingD
Bruised itself on a happening so rudeF
