Pickthorn Manor: 23 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABBBBBBBB

Her little taper made the room seem vastA
Caverned and empty And her beating heartB
Rapped through the silence all about her castA
Like some loud dreadful death watch taking partB
In this sad vigil Slowly she undrestB
Put out the light and crept into her bedB
The linen sheets were fragrant but so coldB
And brimming tears she shedB
Sobbing and quivering in her barren nestB
Her weeping lips into the pillow prestB
Her eyes sealed fast within its smothering foldB
