Pickthorn Manor: 08 Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCDEDCCE

The fish hung circled for a moment ringedA
And bright then flung itself out a thin bladeB
Of spotted lightning and its tail was wingedA
With chipped and sparkled sunshine And the shadeB
Broke up and splintered into shafts of lightC
Wheeling about the fish who churned the airD
And made the fish line hum and bent the rodE
Almost to snapping CareD
The young man took against the twigs with slightC
Deft movements he kept fish and line in tightC
Obedience to his will with every prodE
