Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHIJThe vine leaves against the brick walls of my house | A |
Are rusty and broken | B |
Dead leaves gather under the pine trees | C |
The brittle boughs of lilac bushes | D |
Sweep against the stars | E |
And I sit under a lamp | F |
Trying to write down the emptiness of my heart | G |
Even the cat will not stay with me | H |
But prefers the rain | I |
Under the meagre shelter of a cellar window | J |
