Madonna Of The Evening Flowers Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDEFGHICA CJKJLM ANOPJJJQR

All day long I have been workingA
Now I am tiredB
I call Where are youC
But there is only the oak tree rustling in the windD
The house is very quietE
The sun shines in on your booksF
On your scissors and thimble just put downG
But you are not thereH
Suddenly I am lonelyI
Where are youC
I go about searchingA
-
Then I see youC
Standing under a spire of pale blue larkspurJ
With a basket of roses on your armK
You are cool like silverJ
And you smileL
I think the Canterbury bells are playing little tunesM
-
You tell me that the peonies need sprayingA
That the columbines have overrun all boundsN
That the pyrus japonica should be cut back and roundedO
You tell me these thingsP
But I look at you heart of silverJ
White heart flame of polished silverJ
Burning beneath the blue steeples of the larkspurJ
And I long to kneel instantly at your feetQ
While all about us peal the loud sweet 'Te Deums' of the Canterbury bellsR
