Late September Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: AABB CCDD EEEE FFEE GGHH IIJJ

Tang of fruitage in the airA
Red boughs bursting everywhereA
Shimmering of seeded grassB
Hooded gentians all a'massB
-
Warmth of earth and cloudless windC
Tearing off the husky rindC
Blowing feathered seeds to fallD
By the sun baked sheltering wallD
-
Beech trees in a golden hazeE
Hardy sumachs all ablazeE
Glowing through the silver birchesE
How that pine tree shouts and lurchesE
-
From the sunny door jamb highF
Swings the shell of a butterflyF
Scrape of insect violinsE
Through the stubble shrilly dinsE
-
Every blade's a minaretG
Where a small muezzin's setG
Loudly calling us to prayH
At the miracle of dayH
-
Then the purple lidded nightI
Westering comes her footsteps lightI
Guided by the radiant boonJ
Of a sickle shaped new moonJ
