La Vie De Boheme Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBCDDBCBAEFGHHBBD HHDHHHHHH IHHIJDJJHD

Alone I whet my soul against the keenA
Unwrinkled sky with its long stretching blueB
I polish it with sunlight and pale dewB
And damascene it with young blowing leavesC
Into the handle of my life I setD
Sprigs of mignonetteD
And periwinkleB
Twisted into sheavesC
The colors laugh and twinkleB
Twined bands of roadways liquid in the sheenA
Of street lamps and the ruby shine of cabsE
Glisten for my delight all down its lengthF
And there are sudden sparksG
Of morning ripplings over tree fluttered poolsH
My soul is fretted full of gleams and darksH
Pulsing and stillB
Smooth edged untarnished girded in my soulB
I walk the worldD
-
But in its narrow alleysH
The low hung dust thick valleysH
Where the mob shuffles its empty treadD
My soul is blunted against dullard witsH
Smeared with sick juicesH
Nicked impotent for other than low usesH
Its arabesques and sparkling subtletiesH
Crusted to grey and all its changing surfacesH
Spread with unpalpitant monotoniesH
-
I re create myself upon the polished skyI
A honing strop above converging roofsH
The patterns show again like buried proofsH
Of old lost empires bursting on the eyeI
In hieroglyphed and graven splendorJ
The whirling winds brush past my headD
And prodigal once more a reckless spenderJ
Of disregarded beauty a defenderJ
Of undesired faithsH
walk the worldD
