In Answer To A Request Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACDECDE E

You ask me for a sonnet Ah my DearA
Can clocks tick back to yesterday at noonB
Can cracked and fallen leaves recall last JuneB
And leap up on the boughs now stiff and sereA
For your sake I would go and seek the yearA
Faded beyond the purple ranks of duneB
Blown sands of drifted hours which the moonB
Streaks with a ghostly finger and her sneerA
Pulls at my lengthening shadow Yes 'tis thatC
My shadow stretches forward and the groundD
Is dark in front because the light's behindE
It is grotesque with such a funny hatC
In watching it and walking I have foundD
More than enough to occupy my mindE
-
I cannot turn the light would make me blindE
