Game Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCDCEEFGD

The gentleman with the grey and black whiskersA
Sneered languidly over his quailB
Then my heart flew up and labouredC
And I burst from my own holdingD
And hurled myself forwardC
With straight blows I beat upon himE
Furiously with red hot anger I thrust against himE
But my weapon slithered over his polished surfaceF
And I recoiled upon myselfG
PantingD
