Dreams Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABBAABBACCCCDCI do not care to talk to you although | A |
Your speech evokes a thousand sympathies | B |
And all my being's silent harmonies | B |
Wake trembling into music When you go | A |
It is as if some sudden dreadful blow | A |
Had severed all the strings with savage ease | B |
No do not talk but let us rather seize | B |
This intimate gift of silence which we know | A |
Others may guess your thoughts from what you say | C |
As storms are guessed from clouds where darkness broods | C |
To me the very essence of the day | C |
Reveals its inner purpose and its moods | C |
As poplars feel the rain and then straightway | D |
Reverse their leaves and shimmer through the woods | C |
