At Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis
Rhyme Scheme: ABCAACCADEFDEFThe wind is singing through the trees to night | A |
A deep voiced song of rushing cadences | B |
And crashing intervals No summer breeze | C |
Is this though hot July is at its height | A |
Gone is her gentler music with delight | A |
She listens to this booming like the seas | C |
These elemental loud necessities | C |
Which call to her to answer their swift might | A |
Above the tossing trees shines down a star | D |
Quietly bright this wild tumultuous joy | E |
Quickens nor dims its splendour And my mind | F |
O Star is filled with your white light from far | D |
So suffer me this one night to enjoy | E |
The freedom of the onward sweeping wind | F |
