A Fixed Idea Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABBAAAAAACACAC

What torture lurks within a single thoughtA
When grown too constant and however kindB
However welcome still the weary mindB
Aches with its presence Dull remembrance taughtA
Remembers on unceasingly unsoughtA
The old delight is with us but to findA
That all recurring joy is pain refinedA
Become a habit and we struggle caughtA
You lie upon my heart as on a nestA
Folded in peace for you can never knowC
How crushed I am with having you at restA
Heavy upon my life I love you soC
You bind my freedom from its rightful questA
In mercy lift your drooping wings and goC
