The Promise Of Sleep Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB CBCB DEDE FGHG

Put the sweet thoughts from out thy mindA
The dreams from out thy breastB
No joy for thee but thou shalt findA
Thy restB
-
-
All day I could not work for woeC
I could not work nor restB
The trouble drove me to and froC
Like a leaf on the storm's breastB
-
Night came and saw my sorrow ceaseD
Sleep in the chamber stoleE
Peace crept about my limbs and peaceD
Fell on my stormy soulE
-
And now I think of only thisF
How I again may wooG
The gentle sleep who promisesH
That death is gentle tooG
