Rhyme Scheme: ABC DEDFEGGFDD HHH BBIJIJKGKG

Believe me this was true last nightA
Tho' it is false to dayB

A fair dream to my chamber flewD
Such a crowd of folk that stirredE
Jested fluttered only youD
You alone of all that bandF
Calm and silent spake no wordE
Only once you neared my placeG
And your hand one moment's spaceG
Sought the fingers of my handF
Your eyes flashed to mine I knewD
All was well between us twoD

-
On from dream to dream I pastH
But the first sweet vision castH
Mystic radiance o'er the lastH
-
-
-
When I woke the pale night layB
Still expectant of the dayB
All about the chamber hungI
Tender shade of twilight gloomJ
The fair dream hovered round me clungI
To my thought like faint perfumeJ
Like sweet odours such as clingK
To the void flask which erst enclosesG
Attar of rose or the pale stringK
Of amber which has lain with rosesG
