In The Night Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAB ACAC ADAD

Cruel I think there never was a cheatingA
More cruel thro' all the weary days than thisB
This is no dream my heart kept on repeatingA
But sober certainty of waking blissB
-
Dreams O I know their faces goodly seemingA
Vaporous whirled on many coloured wingsC
I have had dreams before this is no dreamingA
But daylight gladness that the daylight bringsC
-
What ails my love what ails her She is palingA
Faint grows her face and slowly seems to fadeD
I cannot clasp her stretch out unavailingA
My arms across the silence and the shadeD
