In The Black Forest Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHEH EAGA IEJE

I lay beneath the pine treesA
And looked aloft where throughB
The dusky clustered tree topsC
Gleamed rent gay rifts of blueB
-
I shut my eyes and a fancyD
Fluttered my sense aroundE
I lie here dead and buriedF
And this is churchyard groundE
-
I am at rest for everG
Ended the stress and strifeH
Straight I fell to and sorrowedE
For the pitiful past lifeH
-
Right wronged and knowledge wastedE
Wise labour spurned for easeA
The sloth and the sin and the failureG
Did I grow sad for theseA
-
They had made me sad so oftenI
Not now they made me sadE
My heart was full of sorrowJ
For joy it never hadE
