The Barking Weasel Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABABCC BDBEFF GHGHII JKJKCC LHLHFF

You say John Irish Mr Taylor hathA
A painted beard Quite likely that is trueB
And sure 'tis natural you spend your wrathA
On what has been least merciful to youB
By Taylor's chin if I am not mistakenC
You like a rat have recently been shakenC
-
To wear a beard of artificial hueB
May be or this or that I know not whatD
But faith 'tis better to be black and blueB
In beard from dallying with brush and potE
Than to be so in body from the beatingF
That hardy rogues get when detected cheatingF
-
You're whacked about the mazzard rather moreG
Of late than any other man in townH
Certes your vulnerable back is soreG
And tender too your corrigible crownH
In truth your whole periphery disclosesI
More vivid colors than a bed of posiesI
-
You call it glory Put your tongue in sheathJ
Scars got in battle even if on the breastK
May be a shameful record if beneathJ
A robber heart a lawless strife attestK
John Sullivan had wounds and Paddy RyanC
Nay as to that even Masten has and BryanC
-
'Tis willingly conceded you've a knackL
At holding the attention of the townH
The worse for you when you have on your backL
What did not grow there prithee put it downH
For pride kills thrift and you lack board and lodgingF
Even while the brickbats of renown you're dodgingF
