Disappointment Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABAAB CBCC DEDD FGFF

The Senate woke the Chairman's snoreA
Was stilled its echoes balkingB
The startled members dreamed no moreA
For Steele who long had held the floorA
Had suddenly ceased talkingB
-
As like Elijah in his prideC
He to his seat was passingB
'Go up thou baldhead ' Reddy criedC
Then six fierce bears ensued and triedC
To sunder him for 'sassing '-
-
Two seized his legs and one his headD
The fourth his trunk to munch onE
The fifth preferred an arm insteadD
The last with rueful visage saidD
'Pray what have I for luncheon '-
-
Then to that disappointed bearF
Said Steele serene and chipperG
'My friend you shall not lack your shareF
Look in the Treasury and thereF
You'll find his other flipper '-
