An Art Critic Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCCDBEEFFGGHHIJ KKLLMMNNN

Ira P Rankin you've a nasal nameA
I'll sound it through 'the speaking trump of fame 'B
And wondering nations hearing from afarC
The brazen twang of its resounding jarC
Shall say 'These bards are an uncommon classD
They blow their noses with a tube of brass 'B
Rankin ye gods if Influenza pickE
Our names at christening and such names stickE
Let's all be born when summer suns withstandF
Her prevalence and chase her from the landF
And healing breezes generously helpG
To shield from death each ailing human whelpG
'What's in a name ' There's much at least in yoursH
That the pained ear unwillingly enduresH
And much to make the suffering soul I fearI
Envy the lesser anguish of the earJ
-
So you object to Cytherea DoK
The picture was not painted sir for youK
Your mind to gratify and taste addressL
The masking dove had been a dove the lessL
Provincial censor all untaught in artM
With mind indecent and indecent heartM
Do you not know nay why should I explainN
Instruction argument alike were vainN
I'll show you reasons when you show me brainN
