A Bubble Poem Rhyme Scheme and Analysis

Rhyme Scheme: ABCB DEFE GHGH IJIJ KLK MNMN OPOP CQA RCRA

Mrs Mehitable Marcia MooreA
Was a dame of superior mindB
With a gown which modestly fitting beforeC
Was greatly puffed up behindB
-
The bustle she wore was ingeniously plannedD
With an inspiration brightE
It magnified seven diameters andF
Was remarkably nice and lightE
-
It was made of rubber and edged with laceG
And riveted all with brassH
And the whole immense interior spaceG
Inflated with hydrogen gasH
-
The ladies all said when she hove in viewI
Like the round and rising moonJ
'She's a stuck up thing ' which was partly trueI
And men called her the Captive BalloonJ
-
To Manhattan Beach for a bath one dayK
She went and she said 'O dearL
If I leave off this what will people sayK
I shall look so uncommonly queer '-
-
So a costume she had accordingly madeM
To take it all nicely inN
And when she appeared in that suit arrayedM
She was greeted with many a grinN
-
Proudly and happily looking aroundO
She waded out into the wetP
But the water was very very profoundO
And her feet and her forehead metP
-
As her bubble drifted away from the shoreC
On the glassy billows borneQ
All cried 'Why where is Mehitable MooreA
I saw her go in I'll be sworn '-
-
Then the bulb it swelled as the sun grew hotR
Till it burst with a sullen roarC
And the sea like oil closed over the spotR
Farewell O Mehitable MooreA
